Athensgreece A Balkan index was rolled out this week, does that mean we could see a Balkan exchange traded fund (ETF) in the near future?  The Dow Jones STOXX Balkan 50 Equal-Weighted Index includes stocks from Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey.  Heather Bell of Index Universe reports this is the first blue-chip index from a major index provider to cover the Balkans region.  Greece and Turkey have the largest representation, each making up about one-fifth of the index. The index comprises nearly 35% banks, followed by 12% financial services.
