How Foreign ETFs React When Their Home Markets Are Closed

Foreign exchange traded funds (ETFs) trading during American market hours sometimes post challenges, especially when their home markets are closed. This last Friday, Asian markets closed sharply lower only to witness U.S. markets experience a huge reversal when the Federal Reserve lowered the discount rate. Carl Delfeld for ETF XRAY explains the scenario. Delfeld concludes that supply and demand eventually synchronize the markets again, regardless of the time of day or which market is open and which market is closed.
