Silver ETF (SLV) The Other Precious Metal

Carl Delfeld writes about silver and how it has been the neglected orphan of the precious metals markets. However, now might be the time to look at silver as a viable investment option.
Demand for silver is rising for use in jewelry, silverware and industrial applications. Silver is rare, with only 23 silver mines operating around the world. And the silver stockpiles are at a 50-year low.
At the end of April a silver exchange traded fund was launched. iShares Silver Trust(SLV) is up 25% since its June low, however the ETF is still 19% off its May high.
